I am Kylie Jiwon Hwang, a PhD Candidate in Management at Columbia Business School. I am on the 2020-2021 job market.
My research interests lie in the area of entrepreneurship, discrimination, and racial inequality. My dissertation examines: Entrepreneurship as a way to overcome labor market discrimination, focusing on formerly incarcerated individuals in the United States. My dissertation has been awarded the 2018 Kauffman Knowledge Challenge Grant.

I was born in London and attended schools in New York, Washington DC, Seoul, and Riyadh. I like to travel, re-read the Harry Potter series, and spend time with my family & friends. I am also a big fan of Pilates.
